LOCAL BODIES.
ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD,
The- Ellerslie Town Board met on Wednesday evening, Mr. A. Milliken presiding. Rate Payments.—The treasurer reported that the amount of general and special rates levied for the year was £9400. Receipts to date amounted to £7700, being 82 per'cent of the total levy. , 1 . Unemployment. — The clerk reported that 106 men had registered for work under No. 5 scheme. Of these 86 had been employed as follows: 28 Single men, 2 days; 39 married 'men with 1 dependent, 3 days; 19 married men with 2 or more dependents, 4 days. Park Road Kerbing.—The question of the width of the footpath in Park Road and the work to 'be done at the intersection of Wilson Street was deferred until the board has inspected the ppsition. Bonus. —It was unanimously resolved that a bonus of £10 be given to the foreman for extra attention to the relief work and forfeiting his holidays, in order to be able to supervise the works. Resignation.—Mr. Segedin resigned his position as a member of the works Committee. 1 Earthquake Relief Fund.—The clerk reported that the fund totalled £110 16/6. ' Water Supply.—The agreement between Ellerslie Town Board and Onehunga Borough Council, made on March 14, 1910, for a supply of water by the latter for 21 years, was placed before the board. It was resolved that Messrs. Thomson and' Meredith, representing the works committee, wait on Onehunga Borough Council at the next meeting to arrange terms for a renewal of-the agreement.
