The Feramorz gelding • was responsible for a smart elfort in running nine furlongs on the course proper yesterday in 1.57. Mosque carried a lightweight, but all the same it was a good gallop. Musquin ran second at the Matamata meeting. A pleasing feature of the showing was the good use he made of his barrier Start, which is not a usual happening with him. R. E. Thomson will ride the Quin Abbey gelding in the High-weight to-morrow. With a good beginning he should be in the money. Cruachan is to be ridden by C. Goulsbro in the Cup at Rotorua. The King Mark —Sliaga gelding has freshened tip a lot of late, and should maKe a good showing in his forthcoming engagements. Cruachan failed in the leading handicaps at the Thames meeting, but this form can hardly , have been reliable..

The Raceful —Miss Roseland gelding failed under a similar impost at Matamata. _ That race has improved him, and if he is favoured by the early running to-morrow he will be on hand at the finish. Dark Rewa, who figures in the Arawa Park Stakes to-morrow, is a member of A. Tinker's team at Te Rap a. He is a racy sort to look at, but the Lapidarygelding may suffer from lack or racing. Leasehold has been at Te Rapa during the past week. The Acre gelding worked well enough over seven furlongs yesterday to give him prospects in his race at Rotorua to-morrow. H. Gilmer is to ride him. Wamboin, who is in the Waimangu Stakes field to-morrow, is a member of P. Brady's stable. He is a three-year-old gelding by The Fortune Hunter, having been bred,in Australia. Wamboin had the first race of his career at Thames. He has improved since then, even if he may not be good enough for the best of the opposition to-morrow. First Lap will be ridden in the Highweight to-morrow by P. M. Brady. The Lapidary filly stays on fairly well, and should have ekauce in the High-weight
