REMARKABLE ESCAPE.
WOMAFS FALL FEOM TRAIN
TORN DRESS AND BRUISES,
A remarkable escape from serious injury was experienced by ah elderly woman who fell between the platform and a train at the Manurewa station this morning. ' The train, which started at Papakura and arrived at Auckland at 10.15, stopped at Manurewa about 9.30. After it had started tlio woman attempted to get off, but she fell between the platform and the.carriage. The guard signalled the engine-driver, and the train was pulled up in six feet, before the back wheels could pass over the, woman.
Except for a few slight bruises on the arms, the woman was not hurt. Her dress was torn, but she appeared to think •so little of the happening that she walked away without attention of any kind.
