VAGRANT GIVEN CHOICE,

After having spent a week in prison ori remand, James Sharkey, aged 54, a hairdresser, appeared at the Police Court this morning for sentence on a charge of being a rogue and vagabond. Detective Sergeant Kelly said drink was Sharkey's trouble.

"He has been in our homes before, but 'does not stay," said Staff-Captain Holmes, who thought accused was worthy of another chance. Sharkey. was convicted, and ordered to come up for sentence within six months, and told that if he left the home he would be sent to gaol.
