Top price at the disposal • sale of Mr. W. G. Stead's Flaxmere Stud-yesterday ■afternoon at Trentham was brought by the stallion Leighton, the buyer b?ing Mr. T. S. Roulston, of Hastings., at 500 guineas. Brood mares sold numbered 22, tlie best price given being 375 guineas for Charlady. Bidding for the stallion Lord Quex reached 2000 guineas, which did not come up to the reserve, arid he was passed in. There was no bid for the Flaxmere' property. Details of the sales made are:— Gas.
