EAST BRISTOL BY-ELECTION.

The by-election for the East Bristol seat in the House of Commons rendered vacant by the death last month of the sitting Labour member, Mr. W. J. Baker, was held yesterday. As a result of the poll the Labour party retained the seat The result was:—

At the last general election the polling for East Bristol resulted:—W. J. Baker
