In a report issued yesterday a committee set up by Congress, under the- chairmanship- of Mr. Hamilton Fish, jun., after eight months' study, states that from 500,000 to 600,000 Communists, organised under leaders directed from Moscow, are agitating for the overthrow of the political and economic systems of America. The committee makes 11 recommendations to the House of Representatives, entailing the most stringent measures of repression against Radicals i.v. .* advocated in the United States, either in time of peace or war. The recommendations range from the exclusion of all Comimi: ist literature from the mails to thei punishment of Communists who spread nimours which result in runs on banks, and from the exclusion of Russian goods produced by prisoners to the deportation of alien Communists.
