WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.

RATJEN—JORDON,

The marriage of a former well-known Aucklauder was solemnised at SI. Sepulchre's Church last Monday, when Mrs. F. C: Jordon, of Wollstoncraft, Sydney, and daughter of the iate Mr. and Mrs. William Johnston, of Par'nell, became the wife of Mr. Charles J. F. Ratjen, of Pukekohe, «on of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Ratjen, of Auckland. The Rev. John Cowie, of Pukekohe,, performed the ceremony. The bride was given away by Mr. Hugh Wallace, and wore a frock of bois de rose satin crepc. A long satin coat with a pleated skirt formed a stylieh ensemble. A Bangkok hat. of the same shade was worn and a shower bouquet of pink flowers was canned. The matron of honour was Mrs. J. S. Johnston, who wore ii blue and black figured crepe de isoio ensemble suit, with a black Bang: kok hat, and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses. The wedding luncheon was served at the residence of Mrs. Johnston, Carlton Gore Road. Mrs. A. E. Johnston wore a cinnamon brown and apricot floral ninon with hat to tone. Mrs. Hawke (Pukekohe), wore white and black crepe de chine and a .black hat with ospreye; Miss Isla. Hawke was in flame accordion pleated crepe ronlaine, with a black Baku hat.

STRONG—BELL. A prety wedding was celebrated in Christ Cliurcli, Ohaupo, on Wednesday, between Evelyn Mary, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bell, Paterangi, and Robert William, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Strong, Drttry. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. W. Clark, of Cambridge. The bride wore au ankle-length wedding gown of ivory silk and georgette, with tight-fitting bodice and flared skirt and long tulle embroidered veil. Her bouquet was composed of asters, lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Misses Bertha and Elsie, as bridesmaids. They wore ankle-length frocks of larkspur blue, and shell pink georgette, with crinoline hats to tone. Their bouquets were pink roses and blue forget-me-nots. The flower girls, Pearl and May Forket, wore white silk frocks, and carried baskets of flowers. The best man was Mr. Wallace Strong, and the groomsman was Mr. Alfred Bell. A reception was held after the marriage at the home of the bride's parents, where Mrs. Bell received the guests wearing a cinnamon brown celanese frock and hat to match, and carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers.
