EOTORUA, this day,

A fatal motor accident occurred yesterday on the Rotorua-Taupo Road at the approach to the bridge crossing the Waikato River. Rangi Te Tco. was driving from Reporoa to Ohaki, and when approaching the bridge, s which is on an acute angle, the steering gear ot the car jammed and the vehicle hit. the steep bank on the right-hand side.

Belli Reweti, a girl aged 6, who was sitting on her mother's knee, was thrown through the windscreen, and when extricated, her throat was found to have been cut. Death followed immediately. None of the other passengers was injured.
