Mr. R. G. Mexted, of Wellington, is at Hotel Stonehurst. The Hon. A. J. Murdoch, Minister of Agriculture, is at the Star Hotel. Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, has received official notification of his appointment as r. member of the Nurses and Mid wives' Registration Board. Mr. H. B. Dr. Bartholomew, who holds the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the United States Army Medical Corps, will return with Mrs. Bartholomew to San Francisco about March. Mr. R. Joughin, an old resident of the Waihi district, who was associated with the timber industry at Waitawheta, near Waikino, has returned after an absence of some two years abroad with Mrs. Joughin and their family. Before returning to New Zealand they toured England in' the same car which Mr. Joughin had purchased in America, and in which they had travelled over 30,000 miles in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Mr. Joughin is staying with friends at Waikino, but intends shortly to take up his in Auckland.
