ONEHUNGA CIRCUIT. APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS. The quarterly meeting of the Ouehunga Methodist circuit was held last night at Onehunga, and was attended by representatives from Onehunga, Penrose, Westney Road, and Walmsley Road, Mangere. The Rev. F. E. Leadley presided. He reviewed the work of the year and outlined a programme for the advancement and consolidation of the efforts of the circuit in the future. He stated that interdenominational services had been started at Oranga Avenue, Merrilands, and he had undertaken to be responsible for one service in every five. It was decided to place Oranga Avenue on the preachers' plan. The school hall at Walmsley Road, Mangere, is to be enlarged, there being sufficient funds in hand to pay for the material. A working bee will commence the erection of the structure on January 24, under the direction of Mr. Ray Fletcher. Mr. W. Archer, superintendent of the Sunday school, reported an increase of 100 per cent in the number of children attending the Walmsley Road institution. The dedication service will take place on March 15. There are 246 members in the circuit, the number having increased by three during the quarter. The income for the quarter was £189 13/4, being £12 in excess of the expenditure. The sum of £61 5/ was raised for the Home Mission fund. The appointment of officers for all the churche« in the circuit resulted as follows:—Circuit stewards, Messrs. C. E. Goode and J. Booth; society stewards: Onehunga, Messrs. G. Gilbert, T. Dunn, T. Flay, W. Hay ward, T. H. Ashe, F. A. Skinner, R. Fletcher; Penrose, Mr. C. A. White; Westney Road, Mangere, Messrs. A. W. Westney and 11. E, Fly; Walmsley Road, Mangere, Messrs. V. A. Day, D. Ford and W. Bridge. Elected representatives: Mesdames T. Flay, A. J. Pople, T. H. Ashe, R. G. Laking, . L. Smith and Mr. T. White; lay pastors, Mesdames E. C. Somerville, P. Hall, J. C. Sibbons, Messrs. T. Dunn and C. Eustace; Home Mission secretary, Miss B. Leadley; Foreign Mission secretary, Mr. W. R. Hookings; orphanage secretary, Mrs. A. J. Pople; conference representative, Mr. F. C. Pace. A warm tribute was paid to the retiring senior circuit steward, Mr. A. J. Pople, for his valuable services during the seven years he had so ably and devotedly discharged the duties of his office. The meeting decided that the circuit should become affiliated with the New Zealand Alliance, with Mr. F. C. Pace and Mr. A. Ardern as circuit representatives.
