TE POI WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.

A well atte'nd-ftd meeting of the Tc Poi branch of the -Women's Institute was held in tho Memorial Hall. Miss Stops, voluntary general organiser of women's institutes, officially linked the branch, which was formed in October by Mrs. Ryan, of Matamata, with the parent body.' Amongst those present were.: Mesdames Ryan, Barry, Mateer, Stewart, Misses Barford and Stevens (Matamata), Mesdames Grayling (president), S. Read (secretary), Elisor Cockerton, Hopkins, Goodwin, Sanders, Buchanan, . sen., Sleeman, Dearlove, Williamson, Wyatt, Oliver, Harray, Molloy, Leach, Buchanan, juu., Mitchell, ' Wise, Lansdown, Whytcross, Quinlan, Miss Whytcross (Te Poi), Mrs. Ritchie (Sydney), Mesdames W. a'nd C. Rowe (New Plymouth). In a short address 'Miss Stops congratulated the Te Poi branch' on the excellent progress made since its inception and gave an inspiring resume of the- aims and objects of women's institutes, the two main points of which were service and co-operation. '■ A vote of thanks was accordcd Miss Stops, after which afternoon tea was served by the Te Poi committee.
