Tie following cablegram ffias been, sent by the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, to Lord Rutherford, on the occasion of the elevation to the peerage.—"Heartiest congratulations on your well-merited honour. New Zealand is delighted at this recognition of her distinguished son."
