Raima for the second year in succession won the Rowe Cup, and he Proved himself one of the test straightout trotters in commission. He finished so well in tlie Association Handicap on the first day that it was always certain he .would be heavily supported to win Cir* for the second year in succession. He proved equal to the task, but there' is no doubt he was fortunate that. Surprise Journey did not '->avf> the rasn-k right, otherwise Raima " i-oye to .he content with second place. Surprise Journey, lost perhaps 48yds at the start, arid when he settled down to trot, instead of being out in front as he should have been, seeing that he was on the limit, he had only one horse behind him. His chance looked hopeless, but he trotted a wonderful race, and not only did he gather up his field, but he battled on in fine style over the last bit and just failed to get to Raima, wjio had gone to the front a long way from home. Surprise Journey was decidedly unlucky. ■ '
