SOCIAL GATHERINGS.

A pleasant "evening was spent at the home of Mrs, F. Moore, Glendowie, when the hostess .entertained her guests at a card evening. Among those present were: Mesdames A. Wilson,? Len Campbell, D. Smith. K. Douglas,\o. Montgomery,' and Misses 0. Kerr and M. Wilson. .' -

, A'delightful dinner party was .held last. evening' at Cargen, when -the spacious dining room was, gay : and festive with the New Year decbrafions. The party was in celebration of the marriage last Tuesday of Miss Jean Macindoe to Mr. Lan Hamilton, formerly of England, now resident in Hawke's Bay. . The guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. 0. G. Macindoe. Mrs. . • Macindoe . was gowned, in., black lace '" with brocaded .lame and Mrs. Hamilton wore white satin.
