The death has occurred of Dr. Arthur Macdonell, a great Sanskrit scholar, arid Emeritus Professor of Sanskrit m the University of Oxford. He was 76 years old.
Dr Arthur Antony Macdonell was tor some'years Taylorian Teacher or German and deputy-Professor of Sanskrit at Oxford. He .was * member ot many foreign academies.
