MANY BANKRUPTCIES IN 1930
RECORD THREE MONTHS' TOTAL
NO DOCTORS OR DENTISTS
There were 1.33 bankruptcies in the Auckland district in 1920, compared with 130 in .1929. Until October, the figures were approximately equal, but there was a remarkable influx of adjudications during the last three months of the year, there being 20 in October and 10 in December. Bankruptcy notifications came in right up to Christinas Eve.
The'total for the complete year does not constitute a record, but that f the three months certainly does. The Official Aseignee's office will be busily occupied during January, and there is not likely to be much diminution of work during the coining year.
Farmers head the list' of bankrupts during 1930, with a total of 22. Next come "labourers (19), builders and contractors (14), and storekeepers, land agents, agents and engineers, live each. Practically every trade is represented in the list, and almost every profession save that or tlie tloctor and the dentist. There was one aviator, one solicitor, one school teacher, one stationer, one bil-liard-room proprietor, and one stock dealer. Also.in the list are two widowe, five married women, two picture-theatre proprietors, and two fishermen. The miscellaneous classification includes two limited liability companies. . :
