J . I WALKER CUP MATCH. I ■ ■ WELLINGTON JUNIORS WIN. AUCKLAND 12 RUNS BEHIND. The two-day cricket match between the Wellington junior reps, and a team selected from the Auckland City and Suburban Association for the Walker Cup was won by the visitors by the small margin of 12 runs on the first innings. Wellington made 247 in their first innings, and 152 in the second. Auckland, in their first innings, compiled 235, and in the second 07 for one wicket. Wellington thus won by 12 runs on the first innings. When stumps were drawn in the first day's play Auckland had put up 175 for the loss of only two wickets, but Ashenden, bowling very well, accounted for four wickets very cheaply. The home side was unlucky in that they had one man absent, who might have compiled the 13 extra runs in the first. innings to give Auckland the game. Detailed results are: — WELLINGTON.
