DROWNING AVERTED.
GIRL'S PLUCKY ACT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, Tuesday. A. plucky rescue from drowning was made at Te Hoe, 15 miles from Huntly, when several school girls were bathing yesterday. A smaU girl got into difficulties, but Mavis Thompson swam to her aid, and effected a rescue in the nick of time. The smaller girl was unable to swim, and but for the promptness of her rescuer must hare lost her life.
