MISS GLEITZE'S SUCCESS,
CROSSING AT. WELLINGTON
SEVEN HOURS IN WATER
(By Telegraph.—Press, Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Swimming for seven hours; Miss Mercedes Gleitze made seemingly light work Of crossing the Wellington Harbour yesterday.
She started off from the Eastbourne Ferry wharf at Wellington at 11.39 a.m. to' the" accompaniment of 'cheefri from a large crowd, alid afrivefl. at Day's Bay, on "the other side of the harbour at (5.42 p.m. She had been seven hours three minutes'in. the water. She received a fbiising reception' from a large crowd on her arrival at Day's Bay. She is the third person to have swum the harbour, the others, being "Tiny" Frejberg and-C. Claridge.
