LABOUR DAY SCENES.

CELEBRATION IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, October 6. Labour Day was marked by an "eight hours" demonstration, a procession through the city and a sports meeting at the Show Ground. The remarkably fine weather assured the success of the gatherings. ■Apart from a few trade union banners symbolical of various industries fully 75 per cent of to-day's display in the procession was frankly a contribution to the bitter New South Wales election campaign. Sir Otto Niemeyer and the Premier, Mr. T. R. Bavin, were caricatured in tableaux and on painted signs, and members of the State Ministry were depicted as highwaymen.
