SPRING FAIR.

The display of flowers in combination with the general artistic effort of stallholders at the Devonport Methodist Spring Fair on Saturday, proved attractive to a large number of supporters. The fair was opened by Mr. A. Harris, M.P., who congratulated the ladies' guild on the splendid exhibition. The following awards were made:— Plate of scones: Mrs. Perry-Taylor, 1; Mrs. S. Lappin, 2. Nut loaf: Mrs. Simpson, 1; Mrs. Warran, 2. Plain- sponge sandwich: Miss Purser, 1; Mrs. Power 2. Plain sponge eandwich (men only): Mr. A. Thomas, 1; Mr. R. Warren 2. Decorated sponge sandwich: Miss Allen, 1 and 2. Plate six sausage rolls: Miss Allan, 1; Mrs. Blamires, 2. Plate six mixed pastry: Mrs. Gillam, 1. Plate six pieces short bread: Mrs. Warran, 1; Mrs. Power, 2. Fruit cake: Miss Allen, 1; Mrs. Giles, 2. Children's sponge: Miss S. Lappin, 1; Miss D. Parkes, 2. Flowers:—Six varieties anemones: Edgar Laxcombe, 1; ranunculi: Miss Waters. 1. Iceland poppies: Miss Febsenfelt. Bouquet of flowers: Mrs. Olivers, 1. Vase of flowers: Miss Fehsenfelt.
