PARLIAMENTARY SESSION.
END THIS WEEK UNLIKELY. ESTIMATES STILL UNFINISHED. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Monday. According to forecasts ' in official quarters it now seems quite impossible for the business of Parliament to be completed by Saturday next. There has already been a considerable delay in passing the Estimates, and even at this late stage there are several important clauses still to be disposed of.
When the House meets to-day urgency will-be applied for, possibly for the passage of the remaining classes of the Estimates, and if this is granted a protracted sitting is in prospect. It is learned, however, that considerable opposition may be raised to this course, and at the time of telegraphing it is doubtful whether the Government's motion will be passed by the House. ! Labour, as well as Reform, members are definitely against urgency being granted. Several important Government measures will be introduced during the week, including the Workers' Compensation Act, α-iving effect to the recommendations of the Recess Commission.
