FLYING BOAT MAKES FAST TRIP. MOTH PROM HOBSONVILLE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The New Zealand Air Force Cutty Sark flying-boat put up good time on a trip "to Nelson and back yesterday. After leaving Evans Bay at 10.20 a.m. the machine reached Nelson, via French Pass, an hour and a half later. The return journey was commenced at 1.10 p.m., and the flying-boat, which took the shorter route across the Sounds, reached Evans Bay after being' one hour ten minutes in the air. . Squadron-Leader L. M. Isitt piloted the machine, and Flight-Lieutenant A. de T. Nevill was a passenger. The strong northerly wind last night provided a good test for the moored flvinf-boat, which came through the strain very satisfactorily. She will probably leave early to-morrow morning on the return trip to Hobsonville, via New Plymouth. The Director of Air Services, WingCommander S. Grant Dalton, will leave Roneotai to-morrow morning for bockburn in a service Moth, winch was brought down from Hobsonville to-day bv FTHit-Lieutena'nt Wallingford. The ■xnachine left Hobsonville about six o'clock this morning, and' reached Roneotai about noon, after landing at New Plymouth. The director expects to be away for a week.
