DANNEVIRKE LABOURER, FINED. OUT OF WORK FOR WEEKS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, this day. Ernest a labourer, was unlucky in a double laying venture. He Avas not only "struck" for a double, but was caught by the police. He told Sergeant Martin that he had* been out of work for several weeks and on Thursday last for the Jirst time started laying ono shilling doubles. He continued his operations on Saturday and was caught by £he police early in the afternoon. The magistrate said it was r.ot a bad case, but was the second to occur here within a short time and he could not look on these offences lightly. Accused was fined £15 and costs 10/, He was allowed a month in which to pay.
