This is the best month for planting evergreens. . i j Camellias, Rhododendrons, Ericas, Lucullias, Pomsettia, Jacaranda, Bougainvilleas and any of the tender subjects can be planted. Prepare the ground for planting Chrysanthemums. It » best to let the ground settle for a week or so before putting out the plants. Prepare the ground for new beds of violets. Divide the old roots of Dahlias, allow a shoot or bud to each tuber. Tubers broken off without a bud will put out new roots, but no buds will form. . , The planting of half-hardy annuals, such as Zinnias, Asters, Salpiglossis is best deferred till the middle of next month. Seeds of Asters, Zinnias, Salvias, Petunias can be sown under glass.
