BOWLING.
TE AWAMUTU CLUB. The Te Awamutu Bowling Club was advised bv the South Auckland Bowling Centre oh Thursday night that permission had been granted the club to hold a fullrink tournament- next Easter, which coincides with the tournament at Cambridge. It was decided to hold a one-day fullrink tournament on the local greens on Labour Day, for which 11 teams have already entered. „ .. The opening day of the season was fixed as October 8.
TAIHAPE CLUB. —5 (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, Friday. The annual meeting of the Taihape Bowling Club was held on Thursday evening, the retiring president. Mr. H. D. Bond, being in the chair. The balance-sheet showed the bank overdraft to be substantially reduced. Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr. J._ P. Aldridge; president, Mr. A. M. Ryan ; vicepresident. Mr. John Mortland: executive, Messrs. D. McLennan, D. Neagle, F. Read, C. Murphy, and R. J. Bowie; secretary, Mr. G.. C. Armstrong; treasurer, Mt. J. Mortland : auditor, Mr. C. L. Dymock; delegate to Wanganui Centre, Mr. L. Simmonds.
