Benson, who died at Manila (New South Wales) recently, was a daughter of the late Mr. >T. S. Benson, of Tamworth, and a greatniece of the late Edward White Benson, late Archbishop of Canterbury. Miss Benson was a member of the choir of St. John's Church of England, Tamworth, for about 13 years, and .also a Sunday ' school teacher. • ♦ * * i Miss Edith Harrhy, the gifted pianist, singer and composer, who is well known in New Zealand, has been giving recitals in Sydney and Brisbane as well as broadcasting in both places. Miss Harrhy states that her song "Mary Magdalene" has been selected as the sacred solo for the Ballarat competition this year. Miss Harrhy and her husband, Mr. Con Dalv, will leave Melbourne for London early next month.
