MR. HENRY. THOMAS.
A well-known resident of Arch Hill, Mr. Henry Thomas, died on September 19 at the age of 72. Mr. Thomas came to New Zealand when quite a young man in the sailing vessel Waikato 50 years ago. He took a keen interest in sport, and was well known in cricket circles, playing with the Hillands and Wanderers' Crickct Clubs, and later acting as umpire in big matches. A great many of his fellow-cricketers will remember him by his underhand bowling and wicket-keeping. Mr. Thomas was for 40 years connected with the firm of W. Pliilcox and Sons until "his retirement eight years ago. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Order of Recliabites.
