GALE ON WEST COAST.

VESSELS IN HIGH SEAS. FLYING BOAT DELAYED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday. Shipping has been disorganised by heavy seas along the Taranaki coast, and a strong north-west wind which blew at gale force. The coastal vessel Hauturu, which left for Onehunga ran into very heavy weather. Progress was slow, and. she had covered only 30 miles when seas and wind became so heavy that she could make no headway, so the captain turned and made for New Plymouth. The Totara, which arrived this morning from Greymouth, also had a very rough trip up the coast. The Cutty Sark flying boat is still delayed, rkn'ng in smooth water between the "wharves. She will return to ilie Hobsonville air base when the weather moderates. The damage sustained yesterday when the flying-boat struck the wharf has been repaired.
