SENIOR STATIONMASTER.
MR. J. J. O'SHEA RETIRING. FORTY YEARS OP SERVICE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON N., this day. Mr. J. J. O'Shea* stationmaster at Palmerston North, is retiring early next month, after 40 years' service with the Railway Department, the last eight ol which has been the charge of the local station. Mr. O'Sliea joined the service as a cadet in Christchurch in 1890, and since then has been stationed in many parts of the North Island, including Eltham, Marton, New Stratford, Wanganui, Patea, and Hamilton. Mr. O'Shea is the senior stationmaster of New Zealand.
