At a largely-attended conference of delegates of local bodies and others to-dav it was resolved to oppose strongly Suggestion of not so:ng on with construction of the Gisoornc-.Napiei railway. \ deputation of five pecans m, atnointed to collect- all available eviuence lid to proceed to Wellington to lay it before the Select Committee of Parliament, -which has been appointed to inquire into lines under construction.
