SPEEDIER MAILS.
Use of Seaplanes in Canada. EUROPE TWO DAYS NEARER. (Received 9.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, September 25. A new Canadian air mail service by which mails for Europe will be flown approximately one-third of their journey was . successfully tested, on Thursday when two seaplanes landed in the Straits of 5 Belle Isle from Quebec City, and transferred half a ton of mail to the liner Empress of Australia. This method effects a saving- of 48 hours.
