WELLIXGTOX, Thursday. ) In anticipation of the commencement | of aerial services within ihe Dominion ) during the next few months the Postal j Department has decided to issue a special j air stamp. The special rate to be charged ) ha© also been fixed provisionally. The Department states that it is pre- , pared to forward correspondence offered for dispatch by air services within the Dominion on approved routes, and run according to approved time-tables. For this . purpose an air mail postage stamp of a denomination of 3d is being produced. This denomination has been decided upon 36 it is proposed that the air transit charge within Xew Zealand is to be 3d an ounce in addition to the ordinary postage. The proposed charge is onehalf the Australian rate.
