Hβ did not begin very fwt bat was travelling on well at the end. Lady Quex went comfortably over tfc furlongs in 1.29 4-5, the first two Ukine 29 l-se. * Royal Finance, who will be ridden by M. Pine in the Shorte Handicap jit Ellerslie, covered eix furlongs evenly in 1.30 2-5. Both Lady Quex and Royal Finance are to be brought acroie to Ellerslie to-morrow morning. The two-year-old Eaeter Time ha* contracted a cold and has been sent home, while Annoyer, who has recently been showing signs of Lameness, ie out of commission and will not be raced at EJlerslie. The Mitchelson Cup candidatej, Prodice and Desert Glow, were aent away from the mile barrier and ran home in 1.54. No time was lost on the journey, tho first three furlongs taking 41 4«5a, and the first five furlongs l>lo 4-5. Deiert Glow revelled in hie task and had a neck the best of matters at the end. Awamutu sprinted home three furlongt in 39 3-sa, while Flying Prince ran dowa the etraight. Hβ was a trifle eore. Baroscope and Princeee Bedt wen to» gether, a length clear of Kingeway titer completing two furlonge in, 24 4«5»,
