NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The North cote Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. J. P. McPhail presiding. Dental Clinic Funds.—A request for financial assistance was received from the Birkenhead School Committee, to carry on the dental clinic at the Birkenhead School. The clinic depends for its existence on voluntary, contributions, and the rain of £26 is required for the ensuing year. The council made a donation of £'.' Street Collection.—Permission xtae granted the St. John- Ambulance. Association to hold a streat collection in the borough on Friday, Oct6ber 3. Birkdale Roads.--.lt was decided to make some improvement to the Birkdale roads. Fruitgrowers in the district mentioned that the fruit season was at hand, and reasonably good roads were essential to the safe carriage of fruit. The matter was referred to the works committee with power to act.
