WATERWORKS REJECTED,
Ihe ratepayers of New Lynn Borough •yesterday .approved a proposal to rafse a loan for the concreting of roads, and lejected a proposal to borrow for the strengthening and extension of the waterworks system. •The'voting was 210 in favour and 113 a /S u n s \ the proposal to raise a loan of ±4000 for the concreting of roads. Of .the sum to be raised £3000 will be spent on concreting 76 chains of the Titiraim Road from Great North Road to the boundary of the Waitemata County. Concreting on tluj county's portion ofthe road will shortly be commenced and an , uninterrupted highway will be : pr oj, videdfroin the city to the summit of the | hill at: Titirangi. Todds and Totara Ayeniies, from the Great North Road to ;the raihyay. level crossing will be concreted, with the 'balance of the money. Very heavy traffic has been carried 011 these roads for the past two years.
