BISHOP OF NEWCASTLE, N.S.W.

SIDNEY, September IS. Dr. Neville Stuart Talbot; Bishop of Pretoria, has bcCn offered the position of Bishop of Newcastle, in succcssion to. the late Dr. G. M. LongArcßdeacon W. A. Charlton, of Syaney, commenting on the selection of Dr. Talbot, said new blood would be welcomed as the Church in Australia had got into a rut from which an outstanding personality like that of Dr. Talbot should help materially to lift it. The archdeacon -said Dr. Talbot did fine work as a chaplain at the front in the Great War.
