KEEK CONTEST ANTICIPATED.

The, annual knoek-otit competition among the senior teams known as fhe Roope Rooster event well be finalised at Carlaw Park to-morrow afternoon, when Ponsonby, winners of the club championship, will meet Richmond, a team which has created 6ome surprises by its improved form. The Roope Rooster series has always been notable for surprises, and the rise of Richmond this year has been the event of the competition. Combining a solid allround defence with bursts of individual aggressiveness, Richmond are not only hard to beat, but are also on occasion very hard to hold from attacks. Ponsonby's speed and polish will have to be in full flood to carry them through. In the event of Ponsonby winning the game, a match will be played the following week between City and Devonport, runuers-up in the club championship, the winner to meet in a final champion-of-ehampions game. At Otahuhu, the Marist seniors will meet a combined senior B representative team in the McManus benefit match. Teams:—
