MOUNT ALBERT BAPTISTS.

The Mount Albert Baptist Church members' tea and annual meeting was held on Wednesday, about 75 members being present. The pastor, Rev. John Laird, M.A., presided. The. secretary's report stated that the year had beeli one of steady progress. The present churdh membership was 137, with over 200 scholars and 37 officers in the Sunday school. The financial statement showed all the accounts to be in credit, with total receipts for the year £1021 6/7. The surplus of assets over liabilities amounted to £5246 1/11. Of this sum £1000 is at call as a permanent church buildiug iund. Mesdames Booker, Turner, sen., Goulburii, Knight, and H. Turner were appointed deaconesses of the church.
