The grounds. com prise-eight acres' - laid' . down in native bush, lawns and flower beds, bordered by - giant polyanthus. in dark browns' arid autumn colours, crimson, orange and flame; hillocks of flax outlined by - ancient heaths aglow with crimson bloom and massive rhododendrons and camellias, - spreading their brilliancy to enhance the glory of the garden. A path enclosed by rocks grown grey with lichen, leads up to the outlook, which commands a fine view stretching cut across the Manukau and embracing One Tree Hill, Mount St. John and Mount Hobeon.
