DAFFODIL SHOW.

FIXE FLOWERS IN ROTORUA.; (From Our.Ottn CoiTespondcnt.) . ROTORUA, Wednesday. The annual Daffodil Showj held in connection with St. Luke's Church, was opened in the Peerless Hall this afternoon. There was a gay exhibition of many choice blooms and the hall presented a charming appearance. Mr. A. Heskth, head 'gardener of the ' Sanatorium, was the principal judge and he spoke very highly of the flowers shown. When inviting the Mayor to open the show the Rev. D.'G. Bates said that the exhibition, although called an "At Home," was really the spring show, but it had started 25 years ago as a small "At Home" in connection with the church and they had -kept to . the; name ever since. All sections of the community had contributed to the success of the show. ■' .

The champion flower of the show was a trumpet daffodil exhibited .by Mrs. Ryder. Other prize-winners were:-— J. Halkett, Mrs. C. A. Clarke, W, H. Spear, Mrs. Bertram, Miss Robinson, Mrs. C. Smith, Mrs. A. Smith, Miss Hetheringtori, Mr. Ryder, Mrs. Wrigley, Mrs. Halcott, Mrs. D. C. Bates, Miss G. Yallop; Miss Ridler, Mrs. C. Newson, Miss Seafell, and Mrs. Rurley. ~
