GLASS OF MILK A DAY.

OFFER DECLINED BY SCHOOL

COMMITTEES.

PUPILS IN WELLINGTON".

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

WELLINGTON, Wednesday.

A. suggestion that, without profit to ,the milk department of the Wellington City Council, the schools of Wellington might be supplied with sufficient milk from the farmers' surplus supply to provide every child with a glass of milk a day was made to the Wellington Education Board recently by Mr. W. H. Bennett, chairman of the Milk Supply Committee of the council. The school committees were circularised on the matter, but from the replies received by the board it was, clear that, on the whole, the committees of the city were not prepared to undertake the management of a milk supply to the children. It was therefore decided, at a meeting of the Education Board today, that no further action should be taken in the matter. ■ " ■ . Mr. W. V. Dyer said that at a health camp at Turakina those- in charge had had the greatest difficulty in getting the children to take the milk provided for them. . '■'
