(Received 11.30 a.m.) ROME, ■ September 12. , Stromboli is in the worst eruption since 1907. " Five persons are dead and 15 seriously injured. Two victims perished in a river of burning sand. The body of another disappeared in lava. There was a startling and tremendous explosion from.the crater of the volcano, which broke out into , extraordinary activity yesterday; V . Showers of flaming stones and molten matter were erupted and these started fires throughout the island. A destroyer and two torpedo boats have been dispatched from Messina to the relief of the islanders. A report that the entire ,'onc of the mountain was blown off is denied.
