SCULLING RACE.
PEARCE BEATS WRIGHT.

TORONTO, September 4,
Bob Pearce, of Australia, defeated Wright, of Toronto, in a special quartermile sculling race .on Lake Ontario'on Thursday evening by three-quarters of a length. The result was doubtful until the last 100 yards, when a tremendous spurt gained Pearce the verdict.
