The match between the Australian cricketers and a South of England team was' continued to-day, with Ames and Tate at the wickets.

They drove powerfully, and the former showed remarkable skill. The pair added 100 runs in 85 minutes. Ames' century took 105 minutes; it was a sterling,- versatile display. Tate's 50 occupied 100 minutes.

After lunch Ames flogged the bowling mercilessly, hitting a'Beckctt for a sixer. Calthorpe hit three successive fours off the same bowler. Chapman declared when Ames was out. He hit two sixers and 15 fours.

A record Folkestone crowd saw Woodfull and Ponsford open for Australia. The latter got 40 of the first 50 runs, and reached his 50 in 70 minutes. .
