FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES.

FAIR BUSINESS,

MANY LINES WEAK.

Although fair business lias been transacted during the past 24 hours, there is no improvement in the market tone on the local Stock Exchange. A few standard lines maintain values, but continued weakness appears in many others. A sale of Colonial Sugar at £32 5/ shows a drop of £4 within the fortnight. The Banking section is irregular. New Zealand and a few others are steady, but in Commercials the Christchurch lead downwards was followed with a sale at 19/6, and best offers this morning were at 19/4. Australian Glass, offered at £1 7/6, Huddart, Parker at £1 14/, and Howard Smiths at 15/, all represented lower valuations. Electro. Zincs recovered a fraction, with 19/3 offered for the prefs. The Noon Call. Only one additional sale was recorded at the noon call, a fair-sized parcel of Wilsons Cements changing hands at the current rate of £2. . , Grey Valley Collieries, after having been neglected for some time, again appeared on the list, with sellers at £14/. P. and O.'s moved up, with buyers at £2 2/6, while Goldsbrough, Morts eased further - , sellers dropping to £1 3/. New Zealand Breweries were available at £2 9/3. SALES COMPLETED. Last Sale.
