CONFERENCE CLOSED
Encyclical to be Issued from Lambeth. BIRTH CONTROL QUESTION. ,' ; (Received 9.30 a.m.) '.- LONDON, August 10. - ; ! The Lambeth Conference 'has concluded. Aii encyclical letter will/ be issued embodying the conclusions arrived 'at. The Archbishop of York,. Dr. Temple, -,at the final session voiced the gratitude of the conference to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang, for presiding for five weeks. It was intimated that the 300 bishops who have been present-at the conference desired to. present a Pastoral Staff for the use of the archbishop in his diocese of Canterbury.
The "Morning Post's" special correspondent says that although efforts were made 'by the minority of bishops to secure a pronouncement on the subject of birth control, it is unlikely that more than a passing reference will appear in the- encyclical to the effect that' the extent of the practice among Church people does not .call for notice.
