TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB.
THE ANNUAL REPORT.
A SATISFACTORY YEAR.
The report and balance-sheet to be presented to the annual meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club, to be held at the club's office next Monday week, states that during the year spring and summer meetings were held, each extending over two days, the stake money paid away amounting to £11,320, an average per day of slightly over £2530. The profit and loss account, after allowing for depreciation, showed a profit of £18S 10/2, which sum had been transferred to capital account. During the year various improvements had been carried out at the racecourse, including renovation and painting of the whole of the buildings. The course was in exceptionally good order and condition. The committee deeply regretted to have to record the deaths of three highlyrespected members of the club, viz., Messrs. J. Molloy, H. B. Philcox and C. Swanson, and extend to the widows and famjli.es pf the deceased gentlemen their heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement. Under the rules of the club three members of the committee retired by rotation. As only three nominations were received to fill the three vacancies, viz., Messrs. W. J. Ralph, J. Mays and J. N. Heslop, these gentlemen were under the rules duly elected.
