HOME SERVICE LEAGUE.
A' meeting of the Home Service League, .presided over by Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, was held in the club room of the Y.W.C.A. on Thursday morning. The following members of the committee were present: Mrs. W. H. Parkes, Mrs. J. J. Kingston, Mrs. B. Buttle, Mrs. P. A. Lindsay, Mrs. R. J. Coates, Mrs. G. S. Cammell, Mrs. Martin Ross, Miss Carnachan, Mrs. J. W. Williamson and Mrs. T. Derrick. After the appointment of officers a sub-committee was formed with power to draw up the rules of the organisation, which is to be run on similar lines to the Home Service Association, which has been so eminently successful in Christchurch and has proved so helpful to mothers. It was decided to ask the Mayoress to call a public meeting of all those interested in the movement as soon as possible.
